U13- Men/ Women High Performance Program
Under the new Competitive Structure outlined by the Ontario Soccer U12 is the final year of preparation before teams compete for Region and Provincial honours. To this end in seeking to refine and develop our senior players as young athletes with a professional approach to the game, the NTSC High Performance Program will seek to foster the 4 Corner Model underpinning performance excellence in soccer – namely the technical/tactical, physical, psychological and social. The aim of our coaches now shifts to the need to translate individual technique into game situations, delivering intensive sessions which challenge participants in thinking about the relationship between game awareness and individual technique, patterns of play, and tactical astuteness. By developing ‘scholars of the game’, the Elite Program will be designed to facilitate the preparation of our young players to compete, achieve and excel at all levels of soccer in Ontario and beyond. The incorporation of a fitness sessions, and work with nutritionists and guided discovery sessions on sport psychology and all aspects of athletic performance ensure that our program goes beyond the playing field in the quest to develop the complete soccer player.
Within High Performance NTSC offers OPDL, OYSL, U21, OWSL and League1 Ontario.
The Ontario Player Development League (OPDL) is the province’s high performance youth soccer program with the objective of preparing and advancing players and match officials to higher levels of the game.
NTSC has been a License Holder of OPDL since it’s first year in 2014, currently fielding eight teams. We are delighted to boast the second highest number of players entering into Provincial and National Programs across Ontario and in mid 2017 season holding first place in four out of six leagues.
The Ontario Women's Soccer League is the second highest women’s soccer league in the province of Ontario and is affiliated with Ontario Soccer, Canadian Soccer, and FIFA, the world governing body of soccer. From it's humble beginnings in 1975 it has grown to be the major body of women's soccer in the Province of Ontario.
In conjunction with the University of Toronto, NTSC has entered the OWSL with the vision of providing a complete path for the female side of the Club. We have some very promising players coming through the ranks including players in the National Program so providing such a link and opportunity is imperative.
